A question I’m frequently asked this time of year is whether or not you should sell your home during the wintertime. The simple answer is yes, you should sell in the winter months. In the winter, there are a lot more buyers who, for various reasons, must buy and can’t wait until the spring—that also means there are fewer tire-kickers this time of year.
In the spring, your house will be competing with five or 10 times as many properties in both your price range and area. Winter, on the other hand, is advantageous for sellers because it’s slim pickings for buyers. If you’re considering selling in the winter (December through February), you can take advantage of a uniquely beneficial market.
